Ah friends! I have been so excited about this helpful blog post! I remember how stressed I was when I was preparing for Evan and my engagement session. Cue Jim Carrey’s voice from The Grinch, “But what will I wear?!” Today I am sharing three quick tips on how to prepare for your engagement session!

1. Don’t wear too busy of prints! If you have a floor length floral dress you are dying to wear – AWESOME – just don’t put your fiancé in a polka dotted shirt! If you are going to do a bold pattern it is best to put the other person in very neutral colors. That way the viewers eye isn’t drawn all over the place! If you have NO idea what to wear my suggestion is to find a dress you love & then plan your honey bear’s outfit around that.

2. Get your hair and makeup professionally done! This will not only make you look like a million bucks but it will also make you FEEL like a million bucks! Professionals know just how to highlight your features to make them pop on camera & don’t even get me started on what they can do for your eyes. You will not even believe how fabulous you will look! 3. Go BIG! Other than your wedding day, this is the only other chance you get to get dolled up & have a super handsome man stand next to you while you pose like models for the camera. It is 100% okay to go over the top. I wore a flower crown & a tulle skirt because that is what I’ve always wanted to do! If you ever have wanted to wear a ballgown or flower crown or have wanted to fulfill your Pinterest dreams of being in a boat full of flowers and feel like a princess – DO IT (but like, totally invite me along because I reaaaallly want to photograph that :D) Not that you need it…but…this is your permission to do so!
