Aitana and Dario | August 22, 2020 | Knoll Crest Farms

I know I use a lot of cliche phrases when I write, but I hope you know how sincere I am when I use those phrases. I am going to use one of those phrases right now – Saturday was the perfect day to get married. When I arrived at Knoll Crest Gardens I kept saying “Wow!”. The sun was gleaming through a few stray clouds and there was a little Oregon breeze blowing through. Everything was decorated and the venue felt calm. Can I enter a sincere cliche phrase here to say, there was definitely love in the air.

The girls were laughing and jamming, while her best friends got Aitana glam. Morgan was braiding her hair and Paige was doing her makeup. On the other side of the property, Dario and his buddies were casual, relaxed playing switch and drinking a few beers. Right before the first look, you could feel the excitement in both Aitana and Dario. There were a few nerves, but overall it was just pure excitement to see each other. I always tell my couples to take time to just be with each other, because wedding days are fast paced and you don’t always get time to yourselves. Their “alone” time might have been my favorite thing to witness. Dario is SO in love with Aitana. You could see it explode out of him as he turned to see his bride. He would subtly kiss her or pat her on the booty. She would laugh and he would smile ear to ear. At one point he told me he likes the left side of her face, because he loves her dimple. CUTE RIGHT?! That was them all afternoon – being super in love and soaking in the perfection of their wedding day.

Their ceremony was sincere, sweet and strong. Pastor Mike had their guests shout out words that described each Aitana and Dario. Dario was educated, a fisherman, strong, caring. Aitana was smart, beautiful, sassy (haha), and loving. Their vows were said, a kiss was shared, and they got to walk back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Scotto – singing the lyrics and holding hands the whole way.

There reception will hold a spot in my mind for a long time because of many things. The smaller guest count made it very intimate, but not quiet. Their guests were interactive and obviously, very excited to be celebrating with Aitana and Dario. Everyone watched as they cut their cake and as they danced. They cheered as Dario took off the garter with no hands and they danced once the music started to bump. I even witnessed a very entertaining karaoke type song and the same guest do the worm!

The day reflected the love Dario and Aitana share. It was calm, joyful, beautiful, warm, and lasting. I am so grateful to have been there to document it & I hope these images are treasured throughout the years when they look back at them and remember 1. how amazing they looked 2. how amazing it feels to be married to their best friend!

Photographing their wedding was extra special to me as I photographed Aitana’s senior photos (and actually me or Holly, photographed all the bridesmaid’s senior photos too)! Being able to be the one to capture two very significant times in someone’s life is a huge honor and I feel very thankful Aitana chose me both times.

Hugs to you both! – Mary
