COURTNEY AND LOGAN | Colorado Springs, Colorado | April 23rd, 2022

It would be a lie if I told you that I didn’t know exactly how the Pleninger wedding was going to go. When you take a goofball like Logan and pair him with an (equally goofy) but sophisticated Courtney, you get something magical. Both of their laughters are contagious – which probably explains why when you are around them your cheeks hurt and you are also in turn laughing. 

Their Colorado Springs wedding was actually perfect. Blue skies, sunshine, amazing company, and one thing very much  in common – being pumped to watch Logan and Courtney be married. 

I have known Logan for a long time…I’m talking like since he was a little boy. So I was overjoyed to be able to be at his wedding. The man he has become is amazing. He was a fun little boy, but as an adult he has a grace, patience and respect about him that is wrapped up in that same goofy boy. It was an absolute pleasure getting to see the man he is today. 

Courtney, although I have only known her really since their engagement photos – I feel like she is a friend. To me that sums up Courtney. She has made me feel included and welcomed in every part of their wedding (including her invitation to rehearsal dinner and a snack bag on her wedding day). She is thoughtful, graceful, kind, and humble. She looked like an actual Disney princess but still blushes and shy away when you compliment her. What is that saying “she’s beauty and she’s grace, she’s Mrs Pleninger”? 

Okay so take those two paragraphs of people and put them in a power couple. Yep. There you have it folks – exactly how I knew it was going to be an amazing day! 

A slow and fun morning at the Airbnb followed by a chilly, but beautiful hour taking photos in the Black Hill Forest complete with a private vow reading (a favorite of mine)! We then made it to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock and WOW. What a church, what a view!! They were married by a family favorite (and a fav of mine too) Deacon Tim Maroney. Deacon Tim made us all laugh and also really think about what marriage means. When you commit to one another and life happens. The hard times come, that is a given but it’s how you work through those hard times that matter. 

After the walk back down the aisle as Mr and Mrs Pleninger and a quick round of family photos we all set off to Black Forest by Wedgewood Weddings. With bellies full of piles of delicious food and drinks, we toasted the new couple & watched Logan whirl his new bride around the dance floor. It probably is because I am pregnant, or have daughters but man – Courtney and her dad’s father/daughter dance really got to me. So did Logan and his mom’s. Such special moments that didn’t go overlooked by anyone. 

It was a pile of donuts that were cut by the newlyweds and then the dance floor was never empty. There was never a moment that we couldn’t photograph something happening. From the endless group dancing, to lifting Logan and Courtney in the air to Logan’s brothers dancing all together – a good time was had. 

The night was sealed with one last private dance (my favorite thing couples can do)! Then bubbles followed them out the door as they zoomed away to spend the rest of forever together…and to get a good sleep before their Maldives Honeymoon 😆 Whatever it may be, I am honored to have been there and to have photographed their love. Congratulations Logan and Courtney Pleninger. Million of hugs coming to you from me!
