OKINAWA BRIGHT + VIBRANT PHOTOGRAPHER FOR HAPPY, KIND SOULS
Bruce and Lena are two of my favorites!! They have some of the biggest hearts and the most fun attitudes of people I have ever met. Their Aruban getaway wedding reflected all the personality traits we all love most about these two! It was relaxed, it was beautiful, it was simple, it was a little funny, it was full of love, and it was a little hot 😀
I bet you can imagine my surprise and my excitement when I got the initial email from Bruce asking me if I wanted to come to Aruba with them in September! My excitement faltered a little when I found out their wedding date was the same date as my wedding couple’s in Mexico. All I could think is how could I get two amazing opportunities and have them fall on the same exact date! Then Bruce and Lena did the most amazing thing. They MOVED their wedding date so I could be a witness to their forever love story…amazing right?!
So after photographing Kady + Tyler’s wedding day in Cabo San Lucas (find it HERE if you missed it), I hopped on a plane and boogied my way to the Caribbean. I was met by a beach bum Bruce, a cooling towel to help me with the heat, a mojito, and more love and excitement than I could have ever imagined!
We spent the day before the wedding photographing some engagement pictures for Bruce and Lena. To get them warmed up with all my fun games and charades that take place during pictures & to get them comfortable in front of the camera! All it really did was make me SO excited for their wedding day!
With the ceremony to take place at sunset, Lena, Bruce and their families spent the majority of the day laying by the beach and soaking in the Aruba sunshine! Then slowly they decided to get ready for the ceremony. It is incredible how laid back they both were. Calm, cool and collected and so ready to get married!
Some of my favorite highlights from the day was all the dancing that took place. From Lena and her dad dancing down the aisle, to Bruce and Lena dancing out during the recessional, to their first dance to “Love on Top” by Beyonce ( you know I jammed hardcore), to the epic dance moves from all of the family members, to one final dance move (aka just jumping) in an American flag speedo and Lena in her swimsuit into the ocean at the end of the night! It was a BLAST, my friends. An absolute joy to be able to have shared this time with these two amazing people and their families who took me in as if I was their own. I am so thankful for friends like Bruce and Lena. I am wishing them both all the wishes of continued happiness and lots and lots and lots of dance moves for their marriage!
