Chelsea and Joe have one of the greatest love stories. I knew Chelsea and Joe in high school and I remember them dating and just being one of those ALWAYS happy couples! Chelsea helped me remember a little more when she showed me their picture from high school prom together – does it get better than that? I don’t think there’s any other way to put this; Chelsea and Joe are one of those meant to be couples. They parted ways for a bit and both brought beautiful babies into this world. When they reconnected, Chelsea said it was like they didn’t miss a beat! They are now parenting, working full-time jobs, and have moved up the Hi-line together.
Chelsea and Joe’s engagement pictures were the day after my birthday, July 28th. I had been away for the weekend and I was so excited to get home to photograph them! We took their pictures where Joe grew up on his family’s farm west of Havre, MT. When I arrived, Joe’s family was outside with the kiddos who were running around and playing and the energy there was just amazing! Chelsea looked absolutely incredible and Joe was his normal happy, playful self that I so appreciated! We spent our time wandering around the farm, photographing amidst years of old tractors, their family’s wheat, and Chelsea’s sister Haily was there to cheer them on and reminisce with the happy couple! And to really put the cherry on top, we were able to photograph in and around the chicken coop that Chelsea and Joe built together in high school! We drove down the road where we captured pictures with Joe’s semi (and pride and joy) and the original Sohm homestead! There were years of history and generations of love on this land, so it was only appropriate that Chelsea and Joe capture their love in the same place!
Chelsea and Joe’s love is so very special, and their road back to each other is a love story I’ll never tire of hearing! There is so much love and support surrounding them, and I cannot wait to see all of that love together as a whole at their wedding next summer!
Thank you both for giving me the opportunity to capture your love story!
